Gala Dinner at the Panorama Restaurant

The first conference day traditionally concludes with the Gala Dinner.

We will gather in the hotel lobby at 20.00 and take a few-minute walk to the Panorama Restaurant.

We will enjoy Slovenian cuisine with traditional Slovenian dishes accompanied by a magnificent view of the beautiful Bled trio – Lake Bled, the Bled Island and its fairy-tale Castle.
The Panorama Restaurant specialises in traditional Slovenian dishes with a primary focus on Gorenjska regional dishes, found under the headline “Genuine Slovenian dishes”. The restaurant offers typical Slovenian starters such as Slovenian prosciutto or “sirovi štruklji” (rolled dumplings filled with cottage cheese), main courses such as the Carniolan sausage with sauerkraut and “idrijski žlikrofi” (dumplings with potato filling), and Slovenian desserts ranging from the original Bled cream cake to the traditional layer cake called “prekmurska gibanica”.

Our culinary host for the evening, chef Simon Bertoncelj, one of the younger generation of Slovenian chefs, will once again break out of established patterns and give us a taste of Slovenian culinary creativity. The harmony of dishes and flavours and combination of traditional Slovenian cuisine with modern culinary techniques – everything is better with a pinch of creativity. Simon Bertoncelj is a member of the Slovenian Culinary Olympics team and an important member of the chefs’ section within the Tourism and Hospitality Chamber of Slovenia. He had the opportunity to learn at one of the restaurants owned by a world-famous chef Gordon Ramsey, to train under a French chef Marc Meurin in Lille, holder of 2 Michelin stars, and to work with a German chef Bobby Bräuer, holder of 18 Gault&Millau points (3 toques).

And as great things are never done by one person – they are done by a team of people, this evening will be spiced up by an outstanding linguistic guest and his one-of-a-kind linguistic acrobatics. By presenting us not less than 50 shades of translation, terminology and technology he will put our business in a completely new perspective, making sure that we lough ourselves off and get to know each other better in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
